History

Yoga Therapy draws from the classical roots of yoga—Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and Ayurvedic principles—and blends them with modern anatomical, physiological, and psychological understanding.


Over the last century, visionaries like Krishnamacharya, B.K.S. Iyengar, and T.K.V. Desikachar pioneered the use of yoga as therapy, focusing not on aesthetics but on healing function, restoring balance, and adapting the practice to the individual.


Today, Yoga Therapy is recognized globally as a complementary system to support recovery from chronic conditions, improve nervous system regulation, and rebuild strength, mobility, and resilience from within.

How Does It Work?

At Healing Yantra, your Yoga Therapy sessions are not generic they’re crafted based on:


  • Your Prakriti and Vikriti (body constitution and imbalance)

  • Your physical condition, energy level, and pain patterns

  • Your breath capacity, sleep, and stress response

  • Your emotional landscape and somatic history

Each session may include:

  • Therapeutic asanas (postures) to support specific joints, organs, or systems

  • Restorative movement for fatigue, burnout, and trauma

  • Breathwork (pranayama) to calm the nervous system and improve energy flow

  • Guided relaxation, yoga nidra, or somatic meditation

  • Mind body practices to support neuroplasticity and emotional release

  • Custom sequences for daily practice, built around your real life rhythms


Our approach is gentle, intentional, and embodied. We don’t ask you to push. We ask you to listen.
